Bone Broth and Three Star Blend

On a cold morning nothing is quite as satisfying as a ladle of hot steaming bone broth, with fresh shaved carrot, parsley and big pinch of Three Star Blend is like heaven in a cup.  Rich and nourishing, we should all have a crockpot in a permanent position on our counters, simmering.  My basic chicken bone broth: Add bones and wine or vinegar to a crockpot, cover with water and set on low for 20 hours.  Strain through a fine mesh sieve.  Store covered in refrigerator for up to 5 days or in freezer for 6 months.

  •  Chicken bones or carcass from roasted chicken
  • 1/2 cup white wine or 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • Water to cover bones
  • Crockpot
  • Patience
